On June 7, 2022, ERAVCTED officially launched the Electricity Saving Network in Vietnam under the name Vietnam Electricity Saving Network (VESN) at two official communication channels of the Network on Zalo and Facebook platforms, with the aim to guide and inspire people to reduce energy consumption.
The Power Saving Network was built with the goal of connecting participating organisations, individuals and power units to disseminate, propagate and share guidelines, policies, legal regulations, and experiences to save electricity, raise awareness of electricity saving to the community, management agencies, social organisations, service businesses and economic sectors. The network will deliver training activities, knowledge creation, dissemination, communication campaigns and many other activities under the National Program on economical and efficient use of energy for the period of 2019-2030.
In the first phase of the Power Saving Network, the main activities will focus on the development of documents on electricity saving, training, propaganda and dissemination of knowledge on energy saving contents such as:
Implement energy saving in offices and offices.
Realize electricity saving in public lighting, lighting for advertising purposes, outdoor decoration.
Implement energy saving in households.
Implement electricity saving in commercial and service establishments.
Implement energy saving in manufacturing enterprises.
In the medium and long term, the Power Saving Network will develop and implement activities with a vision to 2050, with the goal of contributing to the realisation of Vietnam's declarations at the Summit on Climate Change, which was held within the framework of the 26th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26). Setting the goals and benefits of the National Program on Economical and Efficient Use of Energy and the Program on Power Demand Management in the current context of Vietnam as well as looking beyond for the next 30 years can be achieved.
Evaluation of energy saving programs, especially electricity saving, will be one of the sustainable and effective solutions to contribute to the achievement of the goals that Vietnam has committed at COP 26 as well as contribute to ensure the security of electricity supply and national energy security.
