The Hanoi People's Committee has just issued Document No. 4236/UBND-DT on the rectification of investment and management after investment in pavements of streets in the city.
The City People's Committee assigned the Departments of Transport and Construction to strengthen the inspection and strict handling of large trucks traveling on the sidewalks, as the acts of stopping and parking cars on the sidewalks are not in accordance with regulations. Moreover, construction works with construction activities that damage pavement structures, gathering points of construction materials on sidewalks are not allowed.
At the same time, the People's Committees of districts, towns and project investors are responsible for organising the inspection, reviewing, maintaining works in accordance with regulations, furthermore, promptly maintaining and repairing pavements that are cracked or broken to ensure the construction quality and urban beauty.
The committee also assigns the Department of Construction to assume the prime responsibility for, and coordinate with the City Departments and relevant units to inspect, review and carefully evaluate the causes of the situation of pavement paving stones peeling, subsidence, cracking, as well as to advise and propose specific, practical, effective and economical solutions, including enhancing the supervisory role of the community. The department also needs to review and evaluate the effectiveness of pavement paving on the approved list of streets, and standardise technical solutions, suitable pavement building materials, and report to the City People's Committee in the first quarter of 2023 for consideration and direction.
